Vinous Antonio Galloni - 01 Sep 21
The 2015 Nebbiolo d'Alba Valmaggiore Sibi et Paucis is a classy, polished wine. Crushed red cherry fruit, anise, spice, mint, cedar, sweet pipe tobacco and incense are all beautifully lifted. In 2015, the Valmaggiore has a bit more richness than is often the case, but that is not at all a bad thing. Once more Luciano Sandrone has created a gorgeous wine from this Roero vineyard.

Notable reds include Barolo and Barbaresco from Piedmont, made from Nebbiolo, and Brunello di Montalcino from Tuscany, crafted from Sangiovese. Chianti Classico, also from Tuscany, is known for its vibrant Sangiovese-based blends, while Veneto's Amarone is a rich, full-bodied wine made from dried grapes. Top producers like Gaja, Antinori, and Marchesi di Barolo exemplify Italy's commitment to quality and tradition in winemaking.
